About Us

Buffalo Trading has been supplying corporate, promotional and retail merchandise since 1989.

We started out supplying screen printed and embroidered clothing and almost immediately we had a contract with Hanes (the much-loved American t-shirt giant) to supply and distribute their own range of print and embroidery designs throughout the UK.

From there we just got busier and busier and as the business started to expand we became involved with supplying staff uniforms for national restaurant chains and breweries. Lots of them. Some pretty significant contracts followed and as our reputation grew we started getting orders from a whole host of companies across a massive business spectrum – finance / music / film / tv / charity / fashion / airline / sport / technology / military. These were exciting times - we supplied Reebok with printed t-shirts and found ourselves sharing an office with the late & very great Bobby Moore OBE. KLM wanted a white surfboard with their decals on it and the British Army contracted us to supply their Challenger Team t-shirts. We supplied merchandise to Microsoft for the launch of the first ever smartphone and did some great t-s and hats for the re-launch of the original Thunderbirds which Carlton TV had digitally re-mastered. In 1990 Linford Christie was favourite for 100m gold at the Barcelona Olympics and guess who supplied his t-shirts – despite the fact that he was sponsored by Puma.

I am still not quite sure how it all happened because we have never advertised and it was more a case of customers finding us rather than the other way round. All our customers came from word of mouth and recommendation. So, it was a totally unconventional approach but we loved the underground feel of it all and we somehow ended up with a crazily impressive client list.

As the corporate side grew we started getting requests for branded pens / mugs / keyrings and a whole range of other products alongside the clothing and uniform which we were already supplying. Back then the internet was pretty non-existent but through some hard yards on the phone and with the use of some good old-fashioned business directories we started to build a really solid base of suppliers for pretty much all of the key corporate and promotional gift products and this core product base has now been expanded massively.

As technology evolved and the internet started to take over the world we became aware of an explosion of companies offering the same products and services that we were but rather than jumping aboard the internet feeding-frenzy we actively avoided any significant web exposure and preferred instead to focus on the business we had already built. We wanted to look after our existing clients rather than chase a never ending roster of new accounts. Ironically our very low-profile approach seemed to work because new clients and orders kept on coming – mainly by phone and word of mouth – so exactly as it was when we first started and over the last 30 years we have tried to stick to our mantra – we have kept a very low profile, avoided the internet as much as possible and preferred instead to just supply high quality branded merchandise to whomever found us.

AND now, in 2021 we seem to have gone full circle having just recently been appointed as the official and sole UK distributor for another American giant – Independent Trading Company. We think these guys are the super-power of the American hood and sweat market. Their garments are in global distribution and are used by many fashion, retail and web clothing brands as well as some of the really big merchandise companies. They are a very serious company delivering very serious quality and we are incredibly proud to be able to represent them in the UK and with that in mind we decided that it was probably time to finally sort out our website. We hope you like it.
